We traveled to the South of France for a wedding, laughter, and champagne, but I also always have my eye out for the local wildlife. It was quiet when I saw it—resting on an old wall, impossibly green, poised as though waiting for me. The katydid did not scuttle or hide. It posed, shimmering in the sunlight like a living emerald. A small hello from nature. Now, in pattern, its body and limbs unfold into crystalline repetition—emerald facets interlocked with silvery light. The Katydid design is both order and surprise, a memory of that single insect and happy celebration, multiplied into an endless promenade of green.
Each angle reveals what the pattern holds within.
