2019 in La Serena, Chile. It was our second total solar eclipse—did that officially make us eclipse chasers? With 300,000 people gathered on the beach and not a cloud in the sky, the anticipation was electric. There’s something profoundly moving about witnessing an event like this alongside friends and strangers. As the Moon covered the Sun, every conversation stopped. For a couple of extraordinary minutes, the world grew dim, and thousands of strangers experienced the exact same moment together. I’ve never felt more connected to people I didn’t know. That feeling of shared wonder is what this design is all about.
